Shah Rukh Khan has turned 61 on November 2, 2026. Audiences are eagerly waiting for King, which arrives on the big screen on December 24 this year. While the excitement for the upcoming action-drama remains among the audience, a new report of Pinkvilla has now created headlines.

The film’s budget is reported to be around Rs. 400 crores, which does not include SRK’s fees, but it includes director Siddharth Anand’s fees. The movie is reported to accumulate release expenses worth Rs. 40 crores. Eventually, King has emerged as the second most expensive Hindi film after Ramayana.

Pen Marudhar has already obtained the theatrical rights worth Rs. 250 crores alongside an overseas minimum guarantee of Rs. 175 crores. The film’s theatrical recoveries are expected to be more than Rs. 400 crores.

Netflix has also brought the film at a price of Rs. 150 crores, followed by music rights worth Rs. 65 crores and satellite rights at Rs. 65 crores. The total recovery figure is Rs. 665 crores, and it is expected to increase once the film is released in theatres.

Netizens reacted by saying that the scale of the film already hints that it will take a big opening and emerge as a blockbuster by the end of its theatrical run. The first song has been released, which has started the pre-release hype, and fans are now waiting to see the upcoming assets.

Trade experts have also praised the confidence of the producers and distributors. However, they also pointed out the fact that the success of the film will entirely depend on its content and so now, the makers have to ensure that the promotional materials are extremely attractive.

Ramayana is the next big release from Bollywood, and after that, the theatre owners and distributors are expecting more revenue from Eetha and King. Now only time will tell whether the confidence of the makers will help to bring good collections or the situation will turn out to be something else.
