While social media is abuzz with praise, one Twitter user, Kamaal R. Khan (KRK), has ignited controversy by delving into the past and presenting startling insights on why Ranbir may not be suitable for the role of Rama.

KRK claimed that Ranbir Kapoor is a big-time beef eater and also enjoys Paya, Nihari, Bhuna, etc. He also mentioned that Ranbir also consumes alcohol and other substances, all of which make him unfit to portray the role of Rama.

As expected, the tweet did indeed ignite debates about Ranbir’s suitability for the iconic role, but the overall public reactions are divided.

Many netizens agreed with KRK’s opinion and raised concerns about whether someone with Ranbir’s past lifestyle choices should portray a figure as revered as Lord Ram.

The sentiment has fueled hashtags and memes, with some arguing that the casting should reflect the sanctity associated with the mythological character.

On the other hand, a significant portion of the internet, especially Ranbir’s fans and industry insiders, have defended him on the matter.

These supporters highlighted that Ranbir has showcased dedication to the role, and there are reports that he’s abstaining from meat and alcohol during the shoot to embody Ram’s purity.

Mukesh Chhabra, the casting director for the film, also emphasized that Ranbir was chosen for the role owing to his calmness and acting prowess, and his off-screen choices should not overshadow his on-screen talent.

The criticism isn’t exactly limited to Ranbir, since the announcement of the film many social media users have expressed that no modern actor is capable of truly embodying Lord Ram, considering that he’s such a relevant figure in today’s time not just religiously but politically as well.

As for choosing Ranbir, many believe it’s the filmmakers creative liberty to choose someone who they believe can do justice to the character. If Ranbir ticks that box for them, maybe the audience should wait till the film hits the theaters to give their final verdict.
