The film industry has been subjected to various controversies over the years. One of them is the alleged extramarital affair of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. Notably, new details have recently emerged about the affair which reportedly started back during the 70s.
The news specifically grabbed attention since Big B was married to Jaya Bachchan when all of these happened. The latter once invited Rekha to her house for dinner and although the actress was worried that there would be a dispute, everything turned out to be normal.
Rekha revealed in an interview that Jaya did not have any problem with the relationship since “she thought her husband was only having a fling.” However, things took a worse turn when Amitabh became emotionally involved and it started affecting his wife at the same time.
While Rekha herself decided to end things at one point, Jaya spoke to her, stating that irrespective of what happens in the future, she would never leave Amitabh. This also brought a change in the Deewar star, who started maintaining a distance from Rekha.
The end of the alleged affair also impacted Rekha and Amitabh’s professional relationship since they were not seen together in any other film after that. The pair previously shared the screen on successful projects such as Silsila, which also featured Jaya.
