From Eid to September Delay: Peak Ranbir & Vicky Wasted?

Love & War was earlier expected to arrive next year. A report from Bollywood Hungama states that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has changed the shoot schedule. Filming will now continue until May 2026, which has surprised many fans and insiders.

The lead actors Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal have reportedly adjusted their other projects. An insider shared these details but did not reveal the exact reason for the delay. Earlier, the team was targeting an Eid release. With the current situation, that date is not possible anymore.

A June release was also discussed as per Ranbir Kapoor’s request. Since that plan failed, the insider believes SLB is now planning for an August or September release window. This has led to discussions online, with fans accusing SLB of wasting the peak phase of Ranbir and Vicky’s careers.

The delay has also caused financial complications. The overall budget has increased. The producers of Ramayana are reportedly unhappy with the new timeline. Ramayana is locked for Diwali in November, and the short gap between both films might affect business.

Ramayana’s team is worried about the recovery of their huge budget. They feel that overexposure of Ranbir Kapoor could impact box office results, as back-to-back releases might reduce audience excitement. This concern is linked to Ranbir’s current stardom and market value.

Meanwhile, Love & War might face pressure if costs rise further. Trade analysts believe that the Ranbir and SLB combination has massive potential. However, the film will require a strong opening and good weekday numbers to be a clean blockbuster.

SLB’s previous films usually start slowly but grow with audience support. His track record shows strong word-of-mouth results. Whether the same performance repeats for Love & War will only be clear after release.

Fans are now asking the makers to start promotions soon. They feel the film needs teasers and posters to build hype. With the extended wait, the industry is watching to see if SLB can deliver a major success in 2026.
