Why Main Hoon Naa 2 in 2026 Could Be SRK’s Riskiest Film?

Director Farah Khan is finally ready to return to direction. She recently stated that she would only make a comeback if she worked with Shah Rukh Khan. This statement has sparked strong buzz within the industry.

Reports now suggest that a sequel to Main Hoon Naa is in development. The film is expected to be Shah Rukh Khan’s next project after completing his action film King. The sequel is said to introduce major changes to the storyline.

According to rumours, Shah Rukh Khan may play a double role in Main Hoon Naa 2. The script is reportedly being written by Akash Kaushik, who previously worked on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. While the idea has excited fans, it has also raised concerns.

Some viewers are questioning whether Shah Rukh Khan can handle physically demanding roles. In recent films, heavy VFX usage for action scenes has drawn attention. This has led to doubts about whether a double role would be practical at this stage.

The makers also face shifting audience sentiment. In recent times, the original Main Hoon Naa has been criticised on social media. Many users feel the Aman ki Aasha theme does not connect with today’s political climate.

Some viewers have even praised Sunil Shetty’s villain role and his ideology in the film. They questioned the portrayal of the hero named Ram supporting across-the-border peace. These discussions have intensified online.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar has reopened debates about how certain Bollywood films promoted peace narratives with Pakistan. This has made selling similar storylines more challenging today.

On the other hand, fans will have to wait longer for King. The film’s release has reportedly been delayed as Shah Rukh Khan wants changes to the script. Whether Main Hoon Naa 2 will move forward as planned remains to be seen.
