Male Casting Couch: Star Director Asked Him to Compromise

Basically, people talk about casting couch and connect #MeToo movement to the sexual harassment that the actresses and models might have undergone with their male counterparts. Many male actors proved that casting couch was their problem, as well.

Rajeev Khandelwal who is a popular television actor who also acted in small Bollywood and movies for digital platforms underwent the same issue before his Bollywood debut. Before his debut, he made quite a name on television.

A senior director asked Rajeev to meet in his office, and they made untoward advances that were suggestive. The actor understood what the filmmaker had in mind and felt like how a woman would have felt if she was in that place.

Rajeev rejected the offer but later got an opportunity to make his debut through ‘Aamir’, a small budget movie when he again got a two-film deal with the star director. Of course, he refused it and moved on with his career.

Though Rajeev didn’t become a star hero in Bollywood, he definitely has earned a name for himself on television and OTT platforms.
