Bollywood Sexist Secrets: Hypocrisy Exposed

Manisha Koirala is an acclaimed 90s and 2000s heroine who has given many fan favorite and critically acclaimed performances in films like Dil Se, Agni Sakshi, Bombay, and Sanju.

Recently, she was seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi alongside many talented actresses like Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha and Richa Chadda.

She appeared in an interview and opened up about all the sexism she had to face in the industry. She also revealed how she tried to bring a change as a feminist entering a sexist world.

It is known to everyone how the pay gap, casting couch and day to day sexism impacts women in the entertainment industry. Manisha shared how she was expected to be nice to male actors and had to work in a crew that was dominantly all males.

Being a feminist, all these things were unacceptable to her. She shared how she was the first woman to hire a female make-up artist for herself and how that marked a change in the industry.

She believes that little steps of rebellion can bring a big change. She did the same and changed the attitude of people towards her.
