Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the mastermind behind Aankhen, the 2002 blockbuster, is set to spark some new thrill in the entertainment industry with his upcoming political thriller, ‘Governor’.
The onboarding of national award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee has left the audience anticipating a new era of thrilling political dramas and edge-of-the-seat dialogue deliveries.
Manoj is going to play the titular role in this intense, commercially-driven theatrical drama. Vipul, on the other hand, will produce the film under his banner, Sunshine Pictures.
Chinmay Mandlekar, who recently directed Bajpayee in Netflix India’s upcoming cop drama ‘Inspector Zende,’ will be sitting on the director’s chair again for the new political thriller.
The film has been in inception for the past two years, and was to be directed by Apoorv Singh Karki initially. The latter was in charge of Manoj’s 2023 critically acclaimed legal drama, ‘Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai.’
However, Karki stepped away due to his other commitments. Manoj who had a creative rapport with Chinmay during ‘Inspector Zende,’ asked the latter to join the film.
However, the rest of the cast for the political drama is yet to be revealed. The much-anticipated film is all set to witness yet another dynamic performance by Manoj Bajpayee, who has already showcased his acting prowess in other political dramas like Satya (1998), and Gangs of Wasseypur (2012).
There’s no doubt that the audience has always loved the actor’s performances in his last few OTT releases like The Family Man. Now, all lies in the hands of Vipul Amrutlal Shah who’s going to work with the actor for the first time.
The latter is also excited about working with The Kerala Story producer who is going to showcase him in an unconventional role unlike any he has played before.
