Yash Raj Films’ new spy thriller Alpha is already making waves as the first female-fronted film in the YRF Spy Universe. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh are the lead stars of the film which will set a new benchmark by having an elite team of female agents.
The latest buzz is that Manushi Chhillar, who is known for her looks and screen presence, might be the latest addition to the cast. Although official announcement is awaited, sources say Manushi will be part of Alia’s team and will be doing high level stunts and action scenes.
This casting is interesting given Manushi’s track record in Bollywood. Despite being a looker, her films so far-Samrat Prithviraj and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan-have not done well at the box office and hence there are doubts about her acting skills.
But YRF and the spy genre could be the perfect platform for her to reinvent herself and prove her mettle. Alpha is directed by Shiv Rawail and will release post WAR 2 and further the connected universe that Tiger, Pathaan and War started.
The film will have slick action, emotional depth and a new direction with the women led cast. Will Manushi be able to break her flop streak and contribute to the Spy Universe? Only time will tell but having her on board has definitely piqued the fans interest.
