Akshay’s Horror Saved By Heroines?

Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan have collaborated after many years in the upcoming horror-comedy film, Bhooth Bangla. Filming for the project is currently in progress and is supposed to wrap up by March this year.

As per the latest update, the makers have cast Mithila Palkar in an important role. An insider stated that Mithila would appear as Akshay Kumar’s sister in the film and her character is an important part of the narrative. She will be shooting for 25 days.

Apart from Mithila, there are two more female leads, including Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi. Furthermore, Paresh Rawal, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav, who have always been featured in Priyadarshan’s films over the years, have been cast altogether.

Although the film’s shooting will be completed this year, it will be released on April 2, 2026. Considering that Priyadarshan and Akshay have done many films together in the past, the makers are not willing to compromise in any manner and bring a blockbuster film to the audience.

Since Akshay will be the main focus of the film, there is a possibility that the leading ladies Mithila, Tabu, and Wamiqa might not get enough screen time. However, everything depends on the main storyline, which will decide whether all the characters need equal screen space.

Akshay’s career has been going through a very bad phase. Although his latest release Sky Force has managed to receive a positive response and the ticket sales have been better compared to his last few films, the possibility of the film getting the status of a “blockbuster” is still a big question.

Among Akshay’s upcoming projects, audiences have specifically expressed their excitement for Bhooth Bangla as it will bring back a hit combination together on screen. Now it remains to be seen if Bhooth Bangla can bring Akshay’s career back on track.
