Mixed Reviews on Sridevi Daughter’s Debut Performance

Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor’s debut was one of the most awaited debuts of the year and finally her debut Bollywood movie ‘Dhadak’ came to theatres, this Friday and the movie has been receiving mixed reviews.

But, Janhvi Kapoor isn’t written off for her performance. Most of the reviews laid confidence on Janhvi Kapoor that she showed the promise that she can improve. This is her debut film and hence, it’s too early to judge her based on her first performance. Moreover ‘Dhadak’ came out with baggage.

The original Marathi film ‘Sairat’ had been a blockbuster and therefore, there are heavy comparisons between the original and the remake. If not for the comparisons with the classic ‘Sairat’, ‘Dhadak’ would have seemed to be a regular Bollywood entertainer, at least.

Except for the reviewers and Marathi language speaking people, others didn’t watch the original. So, this factor may help the movie in the coming days. Let’s wait for the verdict of the common audiences on Sridevi’s daughter’s debut movie.
