Most Controversial Film Releasing with No Cut

A teaser for ‘Punjab 95’ has been revealed. It stars Diljit Dosanjh in the role of activist Jaswant Singh Khalra and his course of investigation behind the disappearance of Sukhdev.

The teaser has become quite popular but it is a shame that the movie will not be released in theaters domestically. ‘Punjab 95’ will have an international release at its expected time but it will not hit theaters in India.

Punjab 95 is directed by Honey Trehan who is known for films like ‘Raat Akeli Hai’. The movie is scheduled to release on the 7th of this February after 2 years of being kept on hold.

The reason behind the delay was the sensitive themes that the film deals with. CBFC suggested 120 cuts to the film for the India release and in an unprecedented turn of events, the makers refused that. And it will be released without any cuts abroad.

So, audiences will have to watch the film on OTT when it streams. And there will be only the overseas release of Punjab 95 for the moment. It is sad for audiences but also quite brave of the makers to keep the integrity of the movie intact even at the cost of bad business.
