Nawazuddin Siddiqui has already carved a niche in Bollywood as a serious actor going rather for independent films with substance over commercial films who prioritizes earnings over the subject matter. His latest project is film Haraamkhor that handles the sensitive issue of a student-teacher romance.

Portraying the role of the teacher in the film, Nawazuddin was aware of the negative image it could generate for him. However, the actor doesn’t care about these repercussions and the only thing he looks for when signing a film is whether it is interesting and challenging enough.

As for Haramkhor, it is also interesting to note that the film was a passion project with everyone associated working for a minimal amount of money. Nawaz himself just took one rupee as a token and agreed upon a share in the film’s profit. Fortunately for Nawaz, the film is doing really well at the box office and is already earning profits!
