Bollywood’s Ugly Truth: 200 Cr on Hype, Zero Talent

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s acting calibre is unmatched and his presence in the industry has been deeply inspiring to the industry outsiders. Talking at one event he opened up about how acting oriented celebrities like Om Puri, Irfan Khan, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah never got a chance to star in big budgeted films.

He unhesitatingly revealed that the stars and their star kids are wasting away 100-200 crores while getting launched in a star system. But a similar budget cannot be imagined for an actor like him and others.

He stated that this is the very reason why the movie going business is on a decline in North India particularly. Drawing comparison with the South Indian industries he shared that the high budget films making 500-1000 crore rupees have stars who are capable actors too and have shown talent.

This indifference to talent in Bollywood has led to a decline in overall quality of the films. He said that the films of stars are stylised by adding action, dance, big sets and locations but at their core they lack guarantee of success.

Netizens amplified his voice in agreement and wished that true actors are also given equal chances in Bollywood.
