Yami Faces Pre-Release Online Criticism

The negativity around Yami Gautam and Balaji Mohan’s upcoming film Nayyi Navelli has started much before its release.

The film hasn’t even hit the screens yet, but a full-blown hate campaign is already underway. Every single thing attached to the project, especially its lead actress Yami, is being deliberately targeted with comments like the film is bad, it’s a guaranteed flop and that the actress is overrated.

This pattern is so predictable now that it hardly looks like genuine audience reaction.

What makes it worse is the alleged motive behind it. If this manufactured negativity is being pushed to pressurize the makers into paying money for it to stop, then it has nothing to do with honest criticism or accountability. It is plain extortion.

And unfortunately, this ecosystem of parasites was created and enabled by the industry itself.

There is also a clear lobby at work here. After the massive success of Dhurandhar, there is a section that is actively waiting to see the Dhar family fail and is using this film to troll them.

Some criticism is also coming from Yami’s own recent interviews where her image is being questioned, but that is separate from the organized targeting of an unreleased film.

The industry needs to draw a line and stop encouraging such practices before every new release becomes a target.
