Triptii Dimri Replaced Deepika Padukone Before Spirit?

Speculation around O Romeo, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, has grown after an old social media post resurfaced. The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, drawing fresh attention online.

The buzz began after the film’s first look was released on January 10. Viewers pointed out similarities with a long-delayed project once linked to Deepika Padukone and late actor Irrfan Khan, leading to widespread discussion.

In a Facebook post from 2018, Vishal Bhardwaj had said an untitled film was put on hold. He cited health concerns of Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan as the reason behind the delay, without confirming future plans for the project.

In the same post, he explained that the story drew inspiration from a chapter in Mafia Queens of Mumbai by Hussain Zaidi. He stressed it was not a biopic and had evolved into a different narrative.

Bhardwaj also mentioned the names Ustara and Afshan in that post. These details have gained attention as O Romeo was reportedly earlier titled Arjun Ustara, with Triptii Dimri said to be playing a character named Afshan.

This has fuelled claims that Triptii may have taken a role once meant for Deepika, while Shahid Kapoor replaced Irrfan Khan after his passing in 2020. The discussion grew after Triptii replaced Deepika in Spirit.

However, the makers of O Romeo have not confirmed any casting changes or earlier versions. Until an official statement is released, these links remain speculation rather than established fact.
