OTT Hit, Cinema Superhit: Senior Hero Strikes Gold

Anil Kapoor has had a good career in the film industry but never reached the superstardom of Amitabh Bachchan. He was once considered the next Bachchan but couldn’t surpass his legacy and despite trying never fully claimed the top spot.

When Bachchan took a break, Kapoor saw an opportunity but Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol and later Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan dominated the box office. He was always in competition with these new stars and that kept him from being number one. Though he never became the top star his versatile roles have kept him relevant.

His performances in Animal and The Night Manager show that his appeal is still strong. The Night Manager got great reviews and showed that Kapoor can pull the audience both on OTT and in cinemas.

Now with Subedar releasing on Amazon Prime, Kapoor is back in the spotlight. The trailer has created buzz with his action packed role and though he may not have been the number one star, Kapoor has adapted to new opportunities in both cinema and OTT.

He may not have reached the commercial success of other stars but his long good career proves that consistency and versatility has kept him in the forefront of the industry whether in cinema or on OTT platforms.
