Pak Stars Unite, Bollywood Not? Brands Over Bharat?

In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack and India’s implementation of ‘Operation Sindoor’ against terror camps in Pakistan, the artists’ associations in the country are also taking some harsh decisions.

In order to put a complete ban on Pakistani artists, they have imposed some strict rules and regulations. All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has already criticized Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan for making “anti-India” comments.

The association has also reiterated its long-standing demand for a complete ban on Pakistani artists in the country. As a part of the same, the body has issued a press release with detailed explanations.

It has alleged Mahira Khan referred to India’s military response operation as “seriously cowardly.” Similar accusations were also made against Fawad Khan of “supporting divisive narratives” instead of condemning terrorism.

Currently, AICWA maintains a “strict and complete ban” on Pakistani artists, filmmakers, and even financiers from working in India.

In the midst of all this, a few people were quick to note how Pakistani artists stand with their country during conflict.

Conversely, there’s no such solidarity among Indian celebrities. Barring a few, most artists choose to stay silent instead of calling out the aggressors.

Many are associated with international brands and cater to global audiences, making them hesitant to take a firm stand on politically sensitive national issues due to concerns over losing endorsements and international fan support.

It is common for any celebrity to care about his or her public image. But it remains to be seen how long it will continue in the upcoming days.

However, a celebrity posting about an incident won’t bring any difference. Everyone knows that Shah Rukh Khan is not the Prime Minister or Salman Khan is not Amit Shah.

The social media trolls should discontinue, considering that SRK and even Amitabh Bachchan have already done a lot to take Bollywood films to global level. Moreover, India is already known as SRK’s country.
