BO Surprise or Big Misfire? Two Stars, Zero Hits

Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor come together in Param Sundari as a fresh on-screen pairing. However, their filmographies suggest more concern than excitement. Both stars have struggled to deliver consistent box office hits.

Sidharth’s screen presence is widely appreciated, but his last films did not perform well. Titles like Yodha (Flop), Thank God (Flop), Marjaavaan (Below Average), Aiyaary (Disaster), and Ittefaq (Flop) highlight his inconsistency and weak script choices.

Janhvi too has faced setbacks in her recent films. Devara (Average), Ulajh (Disaster), Mr & Mrs Mahi (Flop), Mili (Disaster), and Roohi (Flop) reflect her struggle. She often faces criticism of being more of a “star kid” than a “star performer.”

With this baggage, Param Sundari feels less like a surefire Bollywood spectacle and more like a risky gamble. A strong script and inventive direction could revive careers, but recent trends suggest style is often favoured over substance.

Audiences today are sharper, less forgiving, and seek depth in storytelling. If Param Sundari does not offer a truly compelling narrative, it risks joining the list of forgettable films. For Sidharth and Janhvi, this release is more about survival than glory.
