Aamir Khan’s discovery Pratibha Ranta, who gained fame through Laapataa Ladies, is reportedly being finalized as the female lead opposite Kartik Aaryan in the upcoming creature comedy Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand. The film, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, is being produced by Dharma Productions in collaboration with Mahaveer Jain Films, and the shoot has already begun.

The makers plan for Naagzilla to be the first installment of a serpent-themed comedy trilogy that blends mythology with humor and modern-day storytelling. Initially, Sanya Malhotra was rumored to be the top choice for the role, but recent reports suggest that Pratibha Ranta is now the frontrunner.

Sources close to the production reveal that Pratibha impressed Dharma Productions with her strong performance in Anubhuti Kashyap’s upcoming directorial, prompting the producers to consider her for a larger, more commercial film like Naagzilla. Her fresh screen presence, limited exposure, and natural acting style make her a perfect choice for a new franchise where audiences crave novelty.

However, scheduling may become a challenge. Pratibha is already committed to another Maddock Films project that begins shooting in early 2026. If her dates align, she will likely be officially announced as Kartik Aaryan’s co-star soon.
