Tamannaah Bhatia’s Ragini MMS 3 has encountered a major setback even before production began. An exclusive report by Variety India states that the film has been stalled indefinitely. This follows the sudden exit of the director from the project.
Sahir Raza, known for directing OTT shows like The Married Woman, Illegal Justice, Out of Order, and Doctor’s, was initially chosen to direct the third instalment of the Ragini MMS franchise. His appointment had generated early interest around the project.
Reports now indicate that Sahir Raza has been removed due to a scheduling conflict. The issue reportedly stems from his existing commitments to other projects. These prior obligations made it difficult for him to continue with the film.
Industry sources reveal that Sahir is currently serving as a showrunner on a major Netflix series. As per a recent mandate, showrunners are required to be present on set daily. This requirement reportedly caused the scheduling clash.
Due to this development, the Ekta Kapoor-backed project remains in a state of uncertainty. The film is on hold until a new director is finalised. Production plans cannot move forward without this key appointment.
While some reports claim that the makers are searching for a replacement, trade sources suggest there is no clarity yet. The final production timeline remains undecided. This has added to the uncertainty surrounding the film.
With Ragini MMS 3, the makers aimed to rebrand the franchise. The shift was planned from its earlier erotic tone to a horror and supernatural narrative. This creative change was expected to refresh the series.
Tamannaah was signed as the lead in September 2025 and continues to be associated with the project. Social media chatter suggests that the actress remains committed. No official statement has indicated otherwise so far.
As the film remains stuck in pre-production, speculation has emerged about Tamannaah exploring other opportunities. This is reportedly to maintain a busy work schedule. These claims remain unconfirmed.
Official confirmation is still awaited from the makers. Neither Sahir Raza nor Balaji Motion Pictures has commented publicly on the situation. The industry continues to watch for further updates.
