The Ajay Devgn starrer had become a big franchise with blockbuster sequel Raid 2. He reprised his role as Amay Patnaik in the Raj Kumar Gupta directorial in which Riteish Deshmukh played the antagonist this time.
The film made 95 crore in the opening week and slowed down a bit later due to the India-Pakistan conflict. It took to earning highly again and is set to collect 150 + crore net at the box office.
This time the female lead was replaced by Ileana D’Cruz to Vaani Kapoor. While Ileana’s charismatic presence was heavily missed, Vaani was not given any significant part but added just as a minor supporting character.
However, while taking credit for the success she has been a front runner. She posted a grateful message for the success of the film and fans felt that she was being a bit too desperate.
Even in her limited role she does not appear charming and remains flat. The main focus of the film remained the dynamic between Ajay and Riteish.
