Ramayana BTS Focuses on Ranbir as Rama
The makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana have recently released a BTS video from the film. The video addresses everything that led to the casting of Ranbir Kapoor as Rama and what the other co-stars have to say about it.
Arun Govil was spotted praising Ranbir’s casting, saying that the actor had all the qualities based on what the veteran imagined Rama to be while walking and doing everything else. Arun also stated that Ranbir always used to touch his feet, something that a superstar never does.
Nitesh recalled producer Namit Malhotra discussing Ranbir’s casting. He said that Ranbir was able to fit all the requirements that were needed for the role. Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman, said that the simplicity needed for the role of Ram can be spotted in Ranbir’s eyes.
Within an hour, the video has received more than 100,000 views. Trade experts said that this is also a good strategy for the film to build more hype, adding that multiple such clips should be released to reach audiences in India and around the world.
On the other hand, netizens expressed their doubts, saying that the plan might be something else behind sharing the video. Most of them recalled that Ranbir is already receiving a lot of criticism for his role as Rama, while a majority also continues to support him at the same time.
Netizens believe that the new video is a strategy to create a good image of Ranbir in front of the audiences who do not consider him a perfect fit for the lead role. A particular section even stated that since the movie is made on a massive budget, audiences all around India have to visit theatres, and in that case, creating a positive impression about Ranbir will help.
As of now, the video has managed to bring the film back into discussion. With only a month left for release, the promotional activities have clearly started. But only time will tell if all the hard work done by the makers will bring good results at the box office.
