Ranveer Plans Baahubali-Style Universe After Dhurandhar?

Ranveer Singh is reportedly preparing for another ambitious project after the success of Dhurandhar. According to recent reports shared by Pinkvilla, the actor is now being linked to a large-scale adaptation of Amish Tripathi’s popular novel The Immortals of Meluha.

The film rights for The Immortals of Meluha have reportedly been acquired by Maa Kasam Film, a company associated with Amish Tripathi. Reports also suggest that Ranveer Singh has joined hands with Birla Studios to develop the project on a grand cinematic scale similar to Baahubali.

The scripting process for the film has already started and development work is currently underway. Industry insiders claim that Ranveer Singh is highly passionate about bringing the story to the big screen. The long-term plan is reportedly to build the project as a three-film cinematic universe.

According to reports, the first instalment may take nearly two years before it officially goes on floors. Ranveer Singh is said to have been finalised for the role of Lord Shiva. His character is expected to continue across all three planned films in the proposed franchise.

The makers have reportedly not finalised a director yet. Sources suggest the production team will take a final call only after the script development process is completed. Reports also claim that the rights for the adaptation were purchased for a huge amount, although the exact figure has not been disclosed.

The project has already started generating strong excitement among fans and cinema audiences online. However, many believe the film will require an experienced filmmaker capable of translating the scale and mythology of the novel effectively onto the big screen.

Trade experts have also shared mixed opinions regarding the project’s future prospects. Some believe that large-scale visual storytelling alone may not be enough to guarantee success. According to them, the film must also offer strong entertainment value to connect with mass audiences.

Several social media users have suggested the name of S.S. Rajamouli for the director’s role because of his experience with epic storytelling. Fans are now closely following updates related to the project and waiting to see whether the film can match the massive expectations surrounding it.
