Hit Song, Disaster Film: Another Triptii Dimri?

Triptii Dimri, once celebrated for her exceptional performances in Qala, Bulbbul, and Laila Majnu, now seems caught in a loop of roles that fail to do justice to her artistic potential.

Her career took a sharp turn after she was seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, where she was heavily sexualized and largely used as a visual attraction rather than a substantial character.

Additionally in her latest film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, her character added little to no value to the plot and was just seen as an element of glamour rather than a narrative necessity.

After Animal, people’s perception of her changed. While she wants to take up more challenging roles, she has been put into a box, both by directors and the audience, as a mere attention-grabber.

One could say that Animal, despite giving her all the fame, limited her opportunities as an artist who wanted to experiment with her craft.

A similar pattern might be seen with Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani who debuted with the film Azaad, starring alongside Aaman Devgan.

While the film was a disaster, Rasha’s song Ui Amma became a viral sensation, quickly trending on social media.

Rasha is only 19. Using an item song as a stepping stone to popularity might seem like a good plan but in reality, it only limits opportunities. Directors start putting you in a box and artistic exploration becomes quite limited.

After seeing the case with Triptii, will Rasha’s future be filled with cushioned opportunities with limited roles that barely explore her character and range as an artist? We can only find out with time.
