Maatrubhumi November Release Doubts
Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi has been in the headlines for a lot of reasons. A new update has once again brought the film into the spotlight, which says that the film has not been certified yet by the CBFC.
An insider revealed that the film was submitted to the CBFC at the beginning of October 2026. But a screening date was not finalized by the CBFC, and although it was supposed to happen on October 26, 2026, things did not progress as planned.
Notably, Salman Khan stepped in this time as he went to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in Delhi to ensure that the screening would happen. Further updates on the matter are awaited.
The source revealed that the changes asked for by the Ministry have already been made to the film, and Salman is now planning to bring the movie to the big screen by the upcoming month. The aim was to bring the film to the theatres by November 13, 2026, and the insider has confirmed that the plan has not changed, subject to the certificate being issued before then.
The insider said that the reason behind choosing the November date is that it is empty and no new film is releasing during that period. Although Gunmaaster G9 and Yeh Prem Mol Liya will arrive on November 27, Salman wants all three films to do well at the box office.
Although December 4 was also being considered, Eetha is releasing on that day, and coincidentally, Jio Studios is the distributor of both Salman and Shraddha’s films. Hence, the plan was cancelled.
While the possibility of Maatrubhumi’s release has made fans happy and excited, it has also left a lot of them worried. Most of them addressed the fact that a big superstar releasing his film in a crowded period won’t work in his favour.
Trade experts also pointed out that the biggest hurdle is going to be Ramayana, and Salman’s film is arriving a week after the magnum opus, which is expected to take a big opening and survive for multiple days in theatres. On the other hand, Gunmaaster G9 and Yeh Prem Mol Liya have already created a lot of buzz before their arrival on the big screen.
Apart from all this, if November 13 is finalized, the makers are not going to have much time for promotions, which means that the audiences will hardly pay any attention to the film, leading to losses at the box office.
It is clear for now that Maatrubhumi is surrounded by multiple red flags if it chooses to come on November 13. As of now, fans are advising Salman to wait for some time and bring the film with better promotional activities so that it can easily pull the crowds. Now only time will tell if Salman will listen to his fans.
