Sanjay Dutt appeared in a wide range of roles this year, moving between comedy and serious performances. Each role carried his distinct presence. Recent reports now suggest the actor is preparing for a project very different from his recent work.
According to reports, Sanjay Dutt is planning a dream project that explores the ideologies of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The film is being produced by Nikhil Nanda and is titled Aakhri Sawal. The subject has already drawn attention.
Aakhri Sawal will be directed by National Award winner Abhijeet Mohan Warang. The story follows a research scholar and his professor. Their conversations revolve around culture, politics, ideology, and social thought through detailed discussions and debates.
Producer Nikhil Nanda has funded the film using personal resources. He described the project as his guru dakshina to the organisation he has been associated with for 40 years. He stressed that the organisation functions without external funding.
Nanda added that swayamsevaks work voluntarily without seeking publicity. According to him, the core idea is to contribute quietly without turning the effort into propaganda. This philosophy, he said, is central to the film’s approach and intent.
The film also features Amit Sadh, Sameera Reddy, Neetu Chandra, Tridha Choudhary, and Namashi Chakraborty. Casting choices have added to the discussion, as the ensemble brings together actors from varied backgrounds and cinematic styles.
The makers have completed an initial seven day shoot. A full schedule is planned from January 6 to January 26 in Kolkata and Mumbai. Nanda aims to complete the film before October 2026, marking the RSS centenary year.
Aakhri Sawal marks Sameera Reddy’s return to films. She was last seen in the Kannada film Varadhanayaka in 2013 and later in Naam, released in 2024. She previously worked with Sanjay Dutt in three films.
Those films include Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, Plan, and Musafir. As discussions grow, many fans are debating whether the film may receive government backing. Despite the makers’ stance, some believe it could lean toward propaganda.
For now, there is no final clarity on how the film will be received. Audience reactions remain divided. The project’s direction and impact will become clear only after its release.
