Sets Of Biggie Burnt By Goons

In yet another case of vandalism, sets of upcoming Bollywood biggie Padmavati have been burnt. A large group of people turned out at the movie sets late night yesterday and created a mess.

The yet unidentified goons came to the location of Padmavati in Kolhapur armed with stones and petrol bombs. They threw them on the sets after beating the “already” beefed up security with lathis. Animals present on the spot got harmed in this attack. The makers have registered a police complaint. The industry is shocked by this development and has backed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Even Ram Gopal Varma too has expressed criticized the attackers.

Padmavati is a historical movie based on the characters Khilji and Rani Padmavati. Rajput groups have taken offense to the director’s vision which reportedly romanticizes the historical figures. The result attacks on sets by the Rajput wings. This recent attack is also part of that ongoing “protection” of the history as claimed by the groups.
