The advance bookings for Shahid Kapoor’s latest movie ‘Deva’ have started now and from the initial trends, the results look quite disappointing. It looks like the movie will not be able to make it a double digit opening.
It can however open with five or seven crores. The initial buzz for the movie was good. The teaser and the songs hyped the movie up but the trailer could not build up much anticipation.
The theatrical trends for Bollywood are very tricky right now and even movies with decent reviews and ratings are not working out well. Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force has got some good reviews but it is still struggling at the box office.
Only movies with huge mass appeal and theatrical value have some chances of doing good business in this situation and many movies will flop despite good making and story.
If Deva manages to get extraordinary word of mouth, it will be able to have a good graph after a few days of the release, otherwise the buzz for the movie is very dull.
It is not a very good time for Bollywood as other anticipated movies like Sikander and Jaat, or Chhaava will take some time to release now.
