Shahid Kapoor was recently at the centre of a social media storm when comments he made during a podcast with Raj Shamani were interpreted as a jab at fellow actor Salman Khan.
During the conversation, Shahid mentioned some of the actors who walk into a room with a sense of highness, dictating that they be recognized first. His playful mimicry and expressions did nothing but get many people to assume that he was specifically referring to Salman and very soon sparked an avalanche of reactions online.
With all the hype surrounding his statements, Shahid quickly set the record straight. Speaking at a gathering with co-star Pooja Hegde by his side, he came out swinging to negate all claims of having targeted Salman Khan. “If I wish to take a dig, it will never be at somebody who is so senior, so established, and who I have so much respect for,” he said while emphasizing that he had not set out to offend.
Few people have called him and asked whether he aimed his remarks at Salman, but he maintains that his comments were made in jest and not targeted at anyone.
Added to this is the interest generated around his next film “Deva,” an action thriller, scheduled for release on January 31, 2025.
More so as he is caught amidst this chaos of media attention, it’s more than obvious that Shahid values the camaraderie he shares with Salman Khan and would never like to undermine it through careless remarks.
