Aamir’s SZP a Masterpiece? Samosa Critics Exposed!

Film criticism should be honest and consistent but the current Bollywood landscape tells a different story.

The tendency to praise remakes especially when a big star like Aamir Khan is involved raises uncomfortable questions about double standards in the industry.

While original content should always be celebrated for its creativity and risk taking remakes no matter how well made are fundamentally someone else’s vision.

The case of Sitaare Zameen Par is a perfect example. Despite being a direct remake of the 2018 Spanish film Champions and following several other international versions the film has been widely hailed as a “masterpiece”.

Curiously the remake label is barely mentioned and critics are hesitant to apply the same scrutiny they would to films led by other stars.

This selective silence not only misleads the audience but also undermines the value of originality in cinema.

Giving high ratings to remakes dilutes the meaning of critical acclaim and does a disservice to films that actually break new ground.

A remake can be well made and emotionally resonant but calling it a masterpiece is misleading.

That title should be reserved for the original which brought the story and its message to the world first.

Maybe it’s time for critics to revisit their standards and for the audience to demand more integrity and transparency in reviews.
