Brand Murugadoss At Work

Only one theatrical trailer, no promos and interviews, no popular music and literally no buzz for the film, yet Akira directed by AR Murugadoss has taken good opening at the box office.

The first day numbers of the film have come a little over 5 Cr which, considering all the above points, is a superb achievement. It is among biggest opened for female lead films. What worked in the films favor seems to be the content of the film which is engaging even though a female lead is at the center of the affairs.

The opening once again strengthens the brand of director AR Murugadoss across India. However with not so friendly multiplex content one has to see where the film eventually ends at.
