Sunny Deol is set to return to action with his upcoming film Lakhan. The project will be directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt, who is known for Kill. The film aims to present Sunny in a fresh and intense avatar.
The makers are planning a high energy entertainer with strong action sequences. The film is also expected to feature powerful dialogues that connect well with single screen audiences. Script development and pre production are currently progressing smoothly.
According to reports, the shooting is likely to begin in October. Since it is a commercial action film, it may target a release next year. The timeline appears to be aligned with standard production schedules.
Fans of Kill are expecting Nikhil to deliver a similar raw action experience. Trade experts also believe that his direction could bring a new style to Sunny Deol’s screen presence and push him beyond his usual zone.
At the same time, Sunny’s fans want the film to retain his signature mass appeal. They are particularly hoping for impactful dialogues that recreate the nostalgic charm of his earlier films.
However, industry experts have raised concerns about the budget. Recent films of Sunny Deol have reportedly been made with budgets between Rs 50 crore and Rs 80 crore, which increases financial risk.
Some analysts feel that since Lakhan is not part of a major franchise like Gadar, the opening may be modest. Audience turnout on the first day could depend heavily on initial reviews and word of mouth.
Others believe the film can succeed if the budget is controlled and fresh elements are added. With promotional content like teaser and trailer yet to arrive, it remains to be seen how the film shapes up and performs.
