Taapsee: Why Are Even Children Committing Crimes?

Taapsee Pannu is known for speaking openly about social issues. While discussing her upcoming film Assi, she addressed the growing concern of sexual crimes in the country. Her comments focused on responsibility beyond law enforcement.

She said the issue cannot be blamed only on police, courts, or legal systems. According to Taapsee Pannu, society must also examine its role. She believes serious crimes involving minors reflect deeper problems in upbringing.

The actor said the problem often begins at home and in everyday surroundings. She stressed the importance of values taught during childhood. Social behaviour, she noted, is shaped early in life.

Assi, directed by Anubhav Sinha, deals with rape and sexual harassment. However, Taapsee Pannu said the film goes beyond crime. She described it as a story about accountability.

She explained that many films focus mainly on courtrooms and judgments. Assi instead encourages audiences to reflect on their own responsibility. The film asks viewers to think about the environment children grow up in.

Taapsee Pannu also connected Assi with her earlier film Pink. She said Pink focused on consent and personal boundaries. Assi explores why such crimes are increasing, including those involving minors.

According to her, this shift in focus makes the issue more disturbing. She believes the conversation must move toward prevention and awareness. The film aims to encourage reflection rather than outrage.

On a lighter note, Taapsee Pannu spoke about her personal life. She said marriage has not changed her life in any dramatic way. Her comments remained simple and practical.
