Fans of Tumbbad have reason to celebrate as the cult horror classic is officially getting a sequel. The makers have announced Tumbbad 2, with Sohum Shah returning and Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios backing the project.
The original film, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, gained a cult following after its re-release. However, Barve has stepped away from the sequel, reportedly due to creative differences with the producers. Despite this, the team promises a darker, scarier, and more detailed experience in the next chapter.
Pen Studios, known for big projects like RRR and Gangubai Kathiawadi, will bankroll the film. Shooting for Tumbbad 2 is set to begin in early 2026, featuring most of the original cast along with fresh additions.
The announcement has thrilled fans, who eagerly await the return of gothic horror on the big screen. With the promise of bigger scale and deeper storytelling, expectations for Tumbbad 2 are already running high.
