F2 is already a blockbuster and is heading for much more in the coming days. However, it is not these films but something else that is the biggest box office success story of January.

The movie that has taken entire trade of India by surprise is Uri – The Surgical Strike. Based on real events on Indian military, the action cum thriller has found audience love like rarely seen before. It is a medium budget flick with no big names, but right from the opening day, it has surprised everyone.

In the last decade and a half, no film had had the second week on par with the first when the first itself was a big one. Also, no film has its second Monday collections on par with the opening day. Uri – The Surgical Strike has achieved this rare feat. The collections have already crossed 100 Cr, and if it maintains the same momentum, there is an expectation of 200 Cr Nett. Whether it reaches that colossal landmark or not will be known in the third weekend.
