This comes as a huge relief to fans who were waiting to see Akshay Kumar play the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj under the direction of Mahesh Manjrekar, as the film has now moved into the post production phase where the team is focusing on the final touches and technical work.

A source close to the project revealed that there were some monetary issues which is why the production was put on hold, but then some new financiers joined the project and it got completed. Actor Akshay Kumar is playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in this film and he shot for 25 days for his extended cameo, plus it is also reported that he charged no amount for his role.

The film is directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and will depict the historic Battle of Nesari fought on February 24, 1674, in which seven warriors led by Senapati Prataprao Gujar faced the much larger forces of Adilshahi general Bahlol Khan. That final stand gives the film its emotional core and positions it as a tribute to bravery and sacrifice.
