‘I Am Like Lord Krishna’: Fraud Case Director’s Idiotic Remark

Bollywood filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, known for horror films like Raaz and 1920, recently sparked controversy after his release from jail. He drew a parallel between his life and Lord Krishna. His remarks quickly attracted public attention.

Vikram spent over two months in Mathura prison, a city revered as Lord Krishna’s birthplace. After securing bail, he said he had lived in the very place where Lord Krishna was born. He added that like Lord Krishna, he must now fight a new battle.

In 2025, Vikram Bhatt was accused of financial fraud in a cheating case filed by Dr. Ajay Murdia. The complainant is an IVF specialist and founder of Indira IVF Fertility Centre in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The allegations involve substantial financial investments.

Dr. Murdia filed an FIR against Vikram Bhatt, his wife Shwetambari Bhatt and others. He claimed they persuaded him to invest over Rs 30 crore in film projects. These included a biopic on his late wife and titles such as Maharan-Ran and Vishwa Virat.

The complaint alleged that promised returns did not materialise. It further claimed that funds were misappropriated through fake bills and invoices. According to the FIR, the money was transferred to personal accounts of the accused.

Vikram and his wife were arrested in Mumbai and later brought to Udaipur for legal proceedings. During their custody period, they were lodged in Mathura jail. The case continued to attract widespread media coverage.

On February 19, 2026, the Supreme Court of India granted the couple regular bail. The court observed that the dispute largely stemmed from commercial mismanagement despite the cheating allegations. However, it refused to quash the FIR.

The court directed both parties to explore mediation through the Supreme Court Mediation Centre. Vikram’s comparison with Lord Krishna after his release drew sharp reactions online. Critics questioned the appropriateness of the statement.

So far, neither Vikram Bhatt nor Dr. Ajay Murdia has issued an official statement following the bail order. The matter may proceed through mediation or further legal hearings. The case remains under judicial consideration.
