As with every successful franchise, fans are excited and enthusiastic about “War 2”. The fans await a new chapter in the soap opera of the high-octane spy thriller series.
The first one was filled with exciting action sequences, some of the most effective plot twists, and character dynamics that were sown to look forward to a second film to do something better, more riveting, and innovative.
However, the last turn of events has taken another twist altogether. A leaked “War 2” plot was dumped on social media, and it has gone crazily viral. While there are heavy speculations regarding this leak, it has also invited a flurry of hatred.
The critics and the fans alike notice the common agenda it shares with the spy thriller “Pathaan” and other films like that. The storyline is criticized for following a very traditional spy template, putting into question the originality and creativity.
It revolves around Kabir (Hrithik Roshan), now heading an international clandestine task force, and confronts Veerendra Raghunath (Jr. NTR), a rogue ex-RAW agent bent on vengeance. The story unfolds with high-octane chases, some intense hand-to-hand combat, global undercover operations, and an added love interest in a cybersecurity expert by the name of Alia.
Though big names like Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR have generated some buzz, many fans are disappointed because of the unoriginality of the storyline and have described it as a rehash of earlier spy films.
Despite this backlash, it has been said that the star power and action sequences can still save it from doom at the box office, although the fate of the film will be dependent on its execution and performances.
