The title track from the upcoming multi-starrer comedy film Welcome to the Jungle has been released, and it is fun to watch, to say the least.
The track features the entire cast dancing in a jungle-like setting, performing quirky moves and pulling each other’s legs. The song also reveals that Akshay Kumar is playing a dual role in the film, with one character being young and the other old. A big CGI gorilla is also seen in the video, which reminds viewers of Phir Hera Pheri. Many iconic meme lines like “Aaloo Le Lo” and “Miracle” are also included in the footage.
The lyrics are mostly similar to the original 2007 title track, except for a few lines here and there. The beats are catchy, but the song still could have been much better. The production quality really needed improvement because the video looks quite cheap compared to the original Welcome. It feels like all the actors were just asked to dance on a big stage decorated with jungle props and a green screen in the background. There is also no real choreography in the song.
However, the nostalgia factor saves it a bit, and the talented actors manage to make up for the low production quality. One thing that is clear from the footage is that the makers are relying heavily on the chemistry of the star cast rather than the script or production values. Still, it would be wrong to judge the entire movie just by a promotional song, so it is better to wait for other tracks to drop.
