Baby John was once expected to have box office potential with Varun Dhawan in the lead role. However, when the release date comes nearer, it is getting eclipsed by the much-hyped Pushpa 2 and one is unable to guess its box office potential.
It was expected to see Baby John opening at ₹16-₹18 crore, given Christmas boost but by the lousy reception given by its songs and the trailer, it may not able enough to cross ₹10 crores on the opening day.
It is in contrast where the Pushpa 2 rocks it has also started to make estimates of earning above ₹1,100 crore from by the end of its second week.
With Pushpa: The Rise, Allu Arjun gained an amazing fan following and it was supposed to be full of excitement in the sequel, so Pushpa 2 had the wide appeal with great marketing but Baby John was lagging behind, which makes them lag in supremacy.
Baby John needs to up its marketing and promotions if it is not going to end up as an underperforming movie. In the absence of more aggressive marketing and stronger promotional material, it risks being overrun by Pushpa 2 and suffers a poor box office performance.
This makes competition tough for Baby John because Pushpa 2 continues to smash the box office. There seems little hope in changing its marketing strategies dramatically since it is losing momentum, and Pushpa 2 is on a winning streak.
