Janhvi Kapoor has been taking on films that allow her to showcase her acting skills, but success has been elusive. Her recent release, Mr & Mrs Mahi, was a flop despite being a decent film.
Now, she is set to appear in an espionage thriller, Ulajh, releasing this week on August 2. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria, the movie features a talented cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, and Adil Hussain.
Unfortunately, there is zero buzz around Ulajh among the audience. Only exceptional word of mouth can potentially save this film at the box office.
Janhvi often faces criticism for getting numerous projects despite her films not performing well. She is accused of being another unsuccessful “nepo kid” surviving due to her connection with Karan Johar.
Looking ahead, Janhvi has a significant pan-India release, Devara, coming up on September 27, where she stars opposite NTR. She was cast to attract a larger Hindi audience with her name.
However, given her struggles for success in Hindi cinema, there are questions about what she can contribute to Devara’s success in the Hindi market.
