‘Zero’ was expected to open big as Christmas was the season when biggies get good attention because of the holidays and stars’ movies try to get the Christmas slot. However, Shahrukh’s ‘Zero’ recorded the lowest opening day collections in the last five years, for a Christmas release. The movie opened to mixed reviews, from all over.
Films like ‘Dilwale’ have got poor ratings but the opening day collections were great as Shahrukh’s charisma pulled the audiences to the theaters. Shahrukh playing a vertically challenged guy was a new thing but somehow, the story didn’t impress the audiences. It is one of those disappointing movies that came in Christmas season.
As per a reliable tracking website in Bollywood, the second day figures of the movie were recorded as nearly Rs.16-17 crores. Aamir Khan’s ‘Thugs of Hindosthan’ was a disaster and Shahrukh’s ‘Zero’ is disappointing. It’s a huge blow to Bollywood witnessing two biggies turning flops, successively.
