At the box office, Barbie not only did exceptionally well, but it also destroyed all other competitors with a massive margin. While thrashing the box office numbers, it also set numerous records. Greta Gerwig also set the record for the biggest opening by a female director.
In the US market, reports are coming in that Barbie secured $155M in the opening weekend. The previous record was set by Captain Marvel with $153M at the box office.
When it comes to the overseas market, Barbie secured a whopping $182M from 70 territories. It also beat Oppenheimer by a huge margin.
As the weekend ends, the total collection stands at $337M, which is more than double the projected numbers.
Even in the Indian market, it is doing wonders. Though here the tables have turned upside down as Oppenheimer looks like the more dominant force, Barbie still managed to bag a whopping ₹18.25 crores.
What was supposed to be a race till death turned into a journey of success. Barbenheimer is eventually making both the movies grow, and as a cinema fan, what else would you want?
