Disney’s Genius Red Carpet Strategy Backfires

Now, they are even forced to replace real-life actors with fictional ones on the red carpet due to the inability to provide actors with fair pay and working conditions.

Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’ red carpet will indeed be haunted, as it has definitely taken a downturn. The red carpet was supposed to make a statement in the right direction for Disney, or at least that’s what they thought.

The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has had a significant impact on Hollywood, and Disney is one of the companies suffering the consequences. The movie premiere and the red carpet event were held without the stars, and the end result isn’t going well for Disney.

The premiere for Haunted Mansion took place at Disneyland. While the director and producers were present at the event, Disney had to organize the red carpet with their classic theme park characters, who posed in front of the cameras.

Even films like Oppenheimer faced a similar fate during the critical stage of promotion. Being at Disneyland helped the production giants as some were genuinely impressed and noted it as a stroke of genius, while others were greatly disappointed.

Multiple comments by CEO Bob Iger are backfiring, as he suggests that WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikers are not being “realistic” with their demands.
