When Deadpool 3 was announced as a part of the MCU, doubts arose about how a franchise known for being R-rated would fit into the family-friendly Disney-owned MCU. The teasers and trailers had already made it evident that the movie was going to be marching to its own band. This was only expected. However, what we didn’t expect was Kevin Feige dropping F-Bombs from the stage at CinemaCon. That’s right, folks. Deadpool is in the MCU and is already making his presence known. Mutating the whole scene.
The people at the CinemaCon were treated with a special presentation from Disney, where they got to see nine minutes of the much-awaited movie. The clip starts with an announcement that the audience should silence their phones. Followed by Deadpool spilling some tea about the Secret Wars but getting interrupted by a ring from the audience. The consequent interruption makes Wolverine go berserk, and he flings an insane number of F-bombs in an unexpected fourth wall break. Then the fans got to see the two in their full glory, where the Merc with the mouth continued with his banter.
The footage was made by Levy and Reynolds specifically for CinemaCon. Since Marvel only has one project to be released this year, Feige is leaving no stone unturned in its marketing. Banking on the sheer popularity and appeal of the character in the mature age groups. Deadpool & Wolverine is set to release on July 26, 2024.
