The Kerala Story is supposedly based on the Love Jihad narrative. It is conceptualised to be a pro-Hindu film which will in turn earn hate from a section of the audience.
The film has opened to utterly poor reviews ranging from 0.5-1. As a film, it doesn’t have many merits and doesn’t pack any novelty or cinematic value.
However, the ground level word of mouth from a section is ultra positive and they are lapping it up already.
The film is set to open on a bigger note than Kashmir Files and the bookings are excellent, thanks to the shockingly striking trailer that depicted the love Jihad concept.
Hate sells as good as any and that’s turning out to be the case as The Kerala Story, despite the agonisingly poor reviews, is striking a chord with a set in of audience who want films like these to be made.
