Nagarjuna believes that only Bollywood is not synonymous to earning over INR 100 crore at the box-office, but even south films will make that money sooner or later. He says south cinema will reach that club, but it will take some more time.
He says one of the reasons south films are still not making it to the INR 100 crore club because south films are still catering to niche audiences. “We are still not able to release Telugu or Tamil films in maximum number of theatres in the North, but Hindi films are releasing in maximum of theatres in South. Most Hindi films are paid a bomb for satellite rights, but southern films are merely paid a pittance of their budget.
