218 cuss words & others cut in Adult Comedy

Movies which had been certified with ‘A’ aren’t considered to be suitable for public viewing and they have to undergo cuts to make them suitable for television telecast. Bollywood movie ‘Grand Masti’ is one such movie which was blasted by critics for the obscenity.

A Public Interest Litigation was filed against the film’s television telecast and the High Court issues a stay on the film’s telecast. In this regard, the government and CBFC have submitted affidavit how 218 cuts were made to make the film suitable for public viewing removing the obscene dialogues and scenes from the film.

The court hasn’t given its verdict yet. The media house which has bagged the screening rights of the movie but since it was restricted by PIL, it also filed an affidavit asking for permission to air the movie.
