$4 Million at US BO – $3.7 Million from Telugu Films!

Nowadays, releasing Indian films in the overseas has become a good business. Overseas distributors are seeing some decent revenues as some star hero and content based films are playing quite well in the states.

Last week saw close to four movies releasing at the box office and most of them doing very well. The latest update reveals that over $4 million has been collected in the last six days at the US box office which is huge.

3 Telugu films like Khaidi 150, Gautamiputra Satakarni and Shatamanam Bhavati made $3.73 Million and Tamil solo release Bhairavaa made $287K which is very poor from a big hero like Vijay.

Balayya will surely hit the $1.5 million soon as the collections are decent and Chiru’s project has already crossed the $2 million mark showing the power of seniors.

All these figures clearly show the increasing popularity of Telugu films in US. Now, films from the south are on par with films from Bollywood and are giving them tough competition in matters of collections and number of screens allocated for each film.
